Participate in the international course "The juridical-political order in Latin America and its relations with Canada" to be held at U. Central

You have time until May 31, 2019 to register to participate in this international course. The program will be conducted entirely in English and it will have the participation of students from different countries. The course will be held between July 22 and August 2, 2019.

Imagen foto_00000002Universidad Central de Chile, together with the University of Ottawa, Canada, and the Universidad Santo Tomás, Colombia, present the international program "The juridical-political order in Latin America and its relations with Canada" to be held in the Santiago Campus of Universidad Central de Chile. International students and professors from the Canadian institution and other Latin American countries will participate in the program coming to Chile during its development. 

We are inviting Law, Social Work, Political Science and Journalism students, who have completed at least 6 semesters of their respective curriculum. The course will be taught entirely in English for two weeks, and its objective is to offer undergraduate students a comparative overview of human rights standards in Latin America and Canada, their impact and application in the political, economic and social environment. 

Application requirements: 

  • To be a regular student of Law, Social Work, Political Science and Journalism careers at the Universidad Central de Chile.
  • Average accumulated notes equal to or greater than 5.0 (approved and disapproved subjects  are included)
  • At least 6 semesters completed of any of the careers indicated above.
  • Intermediate or higher level of English (accreditation required).

 

Required documents: 

  • Regular Student Certificate - issued by the CAIE / U.CENTRAL.
  • Certificate of grades and subjects studied in which the approved and failed ones are detailed.
  • Letter of sponsorship from the Career Director or Secretary (a) of Studies.
  • Motivation letter written in English, indicating the reasons why you want to participate in the international course (max 500 words).
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher of the career to which the applicant belongs. In it, the teacher-student relationship and the profile of the student should be noted.
  • Resume - attach the certifications of the academic and extra-curricular activities carried out (seminars, courses, meetings, training, etc.).
  • English certificate that demonstrates intermediate or higher level. In the case of not having a certificate, contact the International Relations Office before May 24 to coordinate an evaluation.

 

Postulation: 

Applicants must send the required documentation to the International Relations Office by e-mail to: relaciones.internacionales@ucentral.cl. It is necessary that at the time of sending it the documentation is complete and labeled with name and surname, since documents will not be accepted separately or after the deadline.

 

Process: 

  • The student must send the required documents by mail to the International Relations Office, at relaciones.internacionales@ucentral.cl until May 31, 2019 (6:00 p.m.).
  • The International Relations Office will do the pre-selection of the candidates in the week of June 3.
  • The Selection Committee will interview the preselected ones during the week of June 3.
  • The International Relations Office will communicate the result to those selected the week of June 10.

 

Students who complete the international program and achieve its approval will receive a joint certification from the Universidad Central de Chile and the University of Ottawa.
